PHILOSOPHY

               La Mesa Christian School is a ministry of Jericho Road Baptist Church and is not a separate entity simply using church facilities.  It is a "church school" which is governed by the church bur which allows open enrollment outside its own memebership in both an evangelistic and discipleship role.

               The purpose statement of Jericho Road Baptist Church is based on I Corinthians 10:31. "Whether ye eat or drink or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."  As a ministry of JRBC La Mesa Christian School seeks to fulfill the purpose and also the salvation of souls; by striving to enable believers to live consistent dedicated Christian lives as they cope with the ideologies of the society in which they life; to function as productive members of their homes, church, community and country; and in doing this, give them an education superior to that given in the public school system.

LMCS PURPOSE

Spiritually

               To teach salvation through faith in Christ, God manifest in the flesh (not by church baptism, church sacraments of other works).

               To teach and train for growth in the Christian life by daily application of the Word of God.

               To teach the Genesis account of creation, refuting both organic and theistic evolution, and the "day age theory".

Socially

               To teach Christian courtesy in all areas of life.

               To teach patriotic appreciation toward our country and Flag, preparing them as useful adult citizens.

Mentally

               To develop the individual student with his creative skills and talents.

               To teach all subjects academically sound, but from the Biblical viewpoint.

               To teach and train the student to think for himself with the Bible as his final rule and authority.

Physically

               To teach health and care of the body.

               To encourage the yielding of the body as an instrument for God's use.

Emotionally

               To teach the place of the Word of God, relating it everyday life.

               To teach, train and perfect the discipline of self and respect for authority.

               To build a Spirit-controlled individual.

               To enable him to adjust to reality and achieve emotional balance.

               To develop aesthetic values.

CURRICULUM

A  BEKA  materials serve as the foundation of the school's curriculum with supplement courses from Bob Jones.  In addition, we offer ACE and Alpha Omega (computerized technology) to meet the needs of individual students.  Textbooks are traditional, and every effort is made to exclude materials which are humanistic or modernistic in philosophy.  Materials which contribute to family breakdown and encourage the destruction of America are excluded.
